Aren't they cute? Little blue fish...

Still banned:

Ghia

Sadie

Bennie

BUT... Nicki and Bennie came up with the idea of adding tub appliques. And as the only person not banned from the pool, I was the guinea pig. And I must say, I think it helped. I figured since I was the only person that hadn't fallen, I would probably slip AFTER the strips were added. So for now, it is marginally better than it was. Still waiting on the price on the deck. But hopefully we can get that rolling this week.

Other than that, not much exciting. It is too damned hot to do anything, and that is exactly what I have done. Not Anything!

Banned

People banned from the pool:

1- Ghia
2- Sadie
3- Bennie

Or better yet, the pool is closed until the deck is built. Bennie isn't bleeding as bad as Ghia, but his whole calf is black, and not very pretty.

I'm not happy.

Age

Does any one realize this? AARP has a program called "55 Alive" that give you a discount on your car insurance. It is an 8 hour class. And I think you have to re-take it every 3 years to keep that discount.

I AM PAST OLD ENOUGH TO TAKE THAT STUPID COURSE!

Now I'm depressed.

Water Feature

Well, since Ghia and Sadie have been banned from the pool, we decided just to turn it into a water fountain. Pretty, huh?

(Actually, since the water was 97 degrees this afternoon, the fountain is supposed to cool it back down. We shall see.

But just tell Ghia and Sadie it is for looks. That way they won't feel so neglected.

As for Corporate America, it is all more of the same. At lest 2-3 hours a day spent on the phone with the IT department un-kinking some kink that should not be there. If anything outstanding happens, I will be sure to let you know. But for today, it was business as usual. The NEW usual. Which I am not too fond of.

But I came home to my heated swimming pool and was able to float away the stress.

More later. I will let you know how the new water feature works out.

#3 and It's Only Noon

This hour's post is about the man that just spent 20 minutes in my office upset because he didn't know Charles had cancer. If he had known, he could have saved him. He makes up this elixir. He makes it with Black Walnut, Alcohol and Vitamin C. It kills the parasites, and if you kill the parasites you kill the cancer. He has saved several peoples lives.

Not sure about the cure, but I sure could use the alcohol right about now......

This is going to be a multi post day

Does anyone remember my facebook post from a few months ago about the client I had that came in and unbuckled his pants to show me how much weight he lost?

Well, that same gentleman just came to the office. He was dressed up in his white shirt and dark tie. (That should have been a dead giveaway)

He sat down, and told me he had been thinking about me and wanted to share something with me. (His pants were still buckled)

He opened his Watchtower to the article "Is there Hope for the Dead?"

So far today, Corporate America has done nothing blogworthy. So the Jehovah's felt compelled to step in.

New Perspective

I was deep in thought this morning driving to work. And I had a thought or two to share.

Make no mistake. The biggest reason that I am staying in this job for the next 176 days is the money. They are paying me decent money. And I like decent money. And I am lazy. I am dreading the process of actually having to look for a job. I don't know what I want to do. I know the money will be less. How much crap am I willing to take for how much money. That's the name of the game. Fact acknowledged and accepted. On to the purpose of today post.

After the money part, there is a part of me that really wants to see this job finished. It is like a race I started 15 years ago and I can see the finish line, and I want to cross it. Some of just because I want to do what I think is right, in my own heart. I told Charles I would take care of him. And I have. For years. And I want to get to this finish line.

But the thought crossed my mind this morning. I pictured myself sitting in front of Charles's desk and describing, in detail, how much crap Corporate America is putting me through. And I picture myself going into great detail, and he is sitting there with his feet propped on the desk, listening to me, wishing I would get to the point.

Now, let me add here that Charles was not a big fan of Corporate America. He loved the company we work for, but he DID NOT like the "stuff" that goes with it.

So I pictured myself finally getting to the end of explaining all the crap that has happened. And I picture him putting his feet on the floor, leaning on the desk and saying "That is just bullshit."

And if you know Charles, and you are reading this, you are smiling. You know that is EXACTLY what he would say!

Back to Corporate America

Ok. I tried to give it a rest. I should just be happy I am not in some cubicle somewhere. I know, I know.... But damn. They are really trying my patience.

Well, yesterday, our day consisted of answering MORE phone calls about THE LETTER, trying to take care of customers and deal with all the absurdity of CA. Still, no paycheck. But they keep saying we are getting one. I will let you know when that little jewel arrives in my mailbox. The highlight of the day was talking to CA about the sercuirty system they are going to install. I had to send them a diagram of our office and yes, they are installing a security system in this office for the next 5 months. Now, Charles has been in this spot for 25 years or so with no problem. But CA REQUIRES this. Any bets how long it takes me to get a reprimand for not arming the stupid thing?

Today..More phone calls about THE LETTER. Same questions. Same answers. Not sure how many more times I can answer these questions without copping some serious attitude. And it is raining outside, so I did not get my float and unwind time tonight. So beware CA. I may give you a run for you money tomorrow.

But Nicki was asking some pointed questions from one part of CA today. Seems that they have over paid her and are going to take back 8 hours from her, and wanted to know if she wanted them to take it all at once, or divide it over 2 paychecks. She let them know that as soon as she SAW a paycheck she would let them know, but she was not authorizing them to take any of her non-existant pay yet.

She then asked another CA department about our background checks and drug screens, etc. We were advised that they were fine, we never hear the results, and if there was any problems, Corporate would have been in touch with us.

And I swear. With God as my witness, 30 minutes later, I get a phone call from Corporate. It seems the background check people could not run my(Nicki's too) background check, because they email address we put on our application was not good. HELLO!!!! YOU changed our email addresses, you morons! So we both had to go re-re-apply for our jobs again.

There are other entertaining things that happened, but that was the high points. Hopefully, they will get my background check run and I will be legal soon. But I may haev jinxed myself. When she asked me for my email address, I told her my parole officer advised me not to give it out.

I'm going to go work on my resume now.

4th of July

Cin and Mike came out today. And as expected, Sadie and Lillie spent about 30 minutes running all over the house looking for that other dog they kept smelling. But finally, we got to go outside and get in the pool. And, as expected, Sadie and Lille were dachsunds. (That's german for little pain in the ass) They didn't want to stay inside. They didn't want to be outside. They just wanted to whine. So we fixed them. They got in the pool. And as expected, Lillie loved it. Sadie, not so much, but she tolerated it. And they swam a little. And floated a little. And shed a lot. (Yes, Luann. I'm sure my filter will be clogged)

We had a storm blow up, so we paused and ate lunch. Then Cindy and I swam a little more. Then they had to pack up and get back to Olive Branch.

I think the entire weekend was a success. I know I certainly enjoyed myself!

3rd of July

We had our First gathering at the pool yesterday. After sending out 150 invitations, 3 people came. It was a nice turnout! LOL
Not really. I just prefer to have my parties in the middle of a long weekend, and this freed the Mississippians to stay in Olive Branch tonight and watch their fireworks. This is the one time of they year their condo is ideal. The fireworks are set off just a few 100 yards from their condo, which gives them a front row seat and no parking hassles.

We would go, but the traffic makes it not worth it. It takes an hour to get untangled from all that, and then an hour trip back to Area 51. And we both have to go to Corporate American on Tuesday. So we will stay put. Cindy and Mike and the girls are coming for a while to float.

But Sunday's adventures...Paw says he has done all the swimming in his lifetime he is ever going to do. So he was content to sit on the couch with a remote and make periodic trips to the refrigerator while us girls. Bennie was in his computer room, because Bennie does not swim when the sun is out. He came out and took pictures twice, which is why there is an ever so rare photo of me.

When we had swim, swam, swum ourselves to exhaustion. It was time to eat. So we started to creep out of the pool. I had warned everyone that these pool steps are temporary, and not worth a dam, and to be careful. Ghia was creeping out of the pool being careful and slipped on the LAST step! Her foot scraped down the front of the step, and she has a nice 3 inch scrape with no skin. One of those injuries there's not much you can do but let if heal. And gripe loudly until it does.

It really hurt my feelings that she had to be the first person to be banned from the pool. She's such a nice lady and all. But if she can't mind the rules, she can't come play.

Not really. I hope her booboo heals quickly and she won't hold it against me and will come back as soon as she stops bleeding. :)

Or at least she waits until I have a regular paycheck before she sues me!

Ghia's injured ankle all wrapped up.

George Washington presided over our party.

I'm in my happy place.

See, she was able to get IN the pool without injury

I Keep thinking I will stop

Thursday night, Logan went to bed with Bennie

My shirt I wore to work on the no air day.

Posting this insanity that is. But they keep topping themselves, and I know you love to hear about my adventures in Corporate America. Or, America the Imbeciles. Of course, I was without airconditioning all day yesterday, and they worked on it all day today. The inside temperature was 88 degrees. About 2:15, it kicked on! YAY! It slowly started cooling off. One calamity fixed. First paycheck, still not processed. Maybe next Wednesday.

Our computers were paperweights today. We had no access to our computers. The letters started getting to people and the calls started.

Yes, I will miss him. I will be here until December. He has Melanoma. No there is no cure. No I don't want to become the agent. No I don't want to start with a new guy.

I got a couple hours of float time after work. My favorite time of day. Then, I came in and played with the dog., Until the dog decided that it was time for Bennie to go to bed. We missed Logan, and he had already gone to bed.

And I am looking forward to the family swim party. The pool is no where near complete, but we are going to enjoy it!
