So much, Too much

A lot has happened since my last post and I have been pondering the fate of my blog.  There has been so little time in 2015 to write an email, much less spend precious energy blogging.  I am currently looking at starting a new blog, since this seems to be a good time to start over.

But I want to take a moment to pay tribute to the greatest mother that ever lived. Nancy Moore Loftiss.  She taught us right from wrong all our lives.  She taught us laughter, strength and love.  And this past year, she taught us courage and grace and love.  When her body was screaming at her to give up, she said NO!  My kids aren't ready.  And she hung in until she couldn't hang any longer.

She died quietly on December 19, 2015. We had a year to sit with her and make memories and remember old memories.

Transitioning to life without her hasn't been as difficult as you would imagine.  Why? Because she taught us to be ready. For life. For death. And for everything in between.  Miss her?  With every breath I take.  Want her back? Nope.  Her body was worn out and she was suffering.  Her new body is much better.  I'm not so sad for Mikey any more.  He has Ghia with him. And Ghia was ready to see him.  Her life was fractured when we lost Mikey.  She treasured all grandchildren and later the great grands.  But Mikey was first.  And left a hole that never healed.

Something else I have learned.  While I went through hell losing Mikey,  my parents suffered more.  Not only were they losing their first grandchild, their first born child was tortured, and they had to watch that, too.

All that to say, did you ever see mom when she was less than happy?   Bet you didn't.  She loved life. She loved her family.  She loved her friends. She loved The Lord.  She had a beautiful life.

So when you are reading this, stop and have a happy thought about Ghia. Then have a happy thought for your loved ones.   Life is short.  Enjoy it while you got it!
